2021年5月5日に発生した東京オリンピック・パラリンピック アジアオセアニア大陸予選においてのCOVID-19検査陽性者について
スリランカのボートチームのチームサポートメンバーが、2021年5月5日、抗原定性検査、それに続くPCR検査の結果、COVID-19の陽性反応を示しました。
感染のリスクを抑えるために導入された大会プロトコルは遵守されており、スリランカチームの他のメンバーは同日受けた、抗原定性検査とフォローアップのPCR検査の両方で陰性でした。
本大会プロトコルの一環として、参加者全員が5月4日、5日に検査を受けており（検査数、計320）、陽性はこの1件のみでした。大会プロトコルによりチームのバブルが形成され、宿泊、食事、移動はチームで行うことになっているため、他のチームや地元のボランティアへの二次感染はありませんでした。
なお、今大会の全ての参加者は、4月29日、または30日に日本に渡航する前の検査で陰性、5月1日の日本到着時の検査で陰性、5月4日の検査でも陰性、そして2021年5月5日にはこの1例を除いてすべて陰性でした。
現段階では、大会は、当局の指示に従う形で、予定通り続行されます。
すべてのチームマネージャーは、所属するアスリートやサポートスタッフを引き続き注意深くモニターするよう忠告されています。また大会に参加するすべての人は、口と鼻を覆うよう常にマスクを着用し、チーム間のソーシャルディスタンスを尊重し、定期的に手を洗うか消毒するなど、所定のプロトコルに従ってください。
日本の当局、スポーツ庁、東京都、東京オリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会組織委員会、そして現地の主催者である日本ボート協会の皆様が緊密に連携して本大会の対策を準備し、効率的なフォローアップを行ってくれたことに感謝します。

Positive COVID19 Test ｔoday, 5 May 2021, at the World Rowing Asia and Oceania Continental Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Regatta
A team support member of the Sri Lanka rowing team has tested positive today, 5 May 2021 for COVID-19, following positive antigen and PCR tests. Event protocols put in place to limit the risk of infection are being followed and the other members of the Sri Lanka team have all tested negative today on both the antigen and follow-up PCR tests.
As part of the protocols for this event, all participants were tested yesterday, 4 May and today, 5 May (320 tests in total), and this was the only positive case. As the event protocol creates team bubbles for accommodation, dining and transport, there has been no cross transmission to another team or local volunteers.
For the record, all participants at this event tested negative before flying to Japan on 29 or 30 April, tested negative upon arrival in Japan on 1 May, tested negative on 4 May and all except this one case tested negative on 5 May 2021.
At this stage, the event will continue as planned, under the direction of the local authorities.
All team managers are advised to continue to closely monitor their athletes and support staff, and all participants at the event follow the protocols in place, including wearing a mask at all times over the mouth and nose, respecting social distancing among teams and regularly washing or disinfecting hands.
We thank the Japanese authorities, Japan Sports Agency, Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the local organisers the Japan Rowing Association for their close collaboration in preparing the countermeasures for this event and the efficient follow-up.
